Obamacare Means Sweeping New Taxes For The American Public

Access to quality healthcare is a priority for most Americans. The fact that the healthcare debate has become such a polarizing political issue speaks to the differing viewpoints many private citizens have regarding this important issue. One of the biggest healthcare initiatives in modern American history is the Affordable Care Act, often referred to as  “Obamacare.” Obamacare, or the Affordable Care Act, is designed to change the way we look at modern healthcare. The goal is to provide expanded healthcare coverage at moderate prices. The problem?  The only way to pay for this massive act is to enact sweeping new taxes on the American public.

Obamacare will introduce twenty new taxes that will cost the American taxpayer over half a trillion dollars over the next ten years. The idea of improving healthcare options for millions of Americans is a noble one – but why does the government need to impose taxes on biofuels, tanning salons, and innovative medical companies?  Altogether, the Affordable Care Act introduces $500 billion in taxes on the American public.  So whether or not this law is indeed “affordable” remains to be seen.
