With new insurance laws in place, people are beginning to wonder how it's going to affect them. While many welcome the mandatory coverage, and see it as a universal right for everyone, there are others who are balking at it, and considering refusing to accept the coverage or pay the penalties. According to Dr. Gottlieb, a former official at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the new healthcare reform legislation may, in fact, provide an incentive for companies to drop their employees' health insurance coverage.

Recently, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) announced a change to initial cost of the health care reform legislation that was just signed into law. According to the CBO's director the bill will cost $115 billion more than previously thought. When added to the original projection, the estimated cost is now over $1 trillion.
